Storage Rental Sales and Management Software

Challenge: The old customer and facility management, and sales tool set needed an updated application to house all tools. The application also needed to be easy to use and facilitate training. Leasing spaces, making payments, and vacating spaces, among other activities, were also part of the overall new product.

Solution: Absorb and analyze the information gathered from user interviews and product owners (stakeholders). Ideate with wireframes and prototypes for feedback and then refine to the final high-fidelity wireframe presentation.

Research

I conducted stakeholder interviews and users interviews, including contextual interviews, to gain as much information about how employees do various tasks in their jobs.

I synthesized notes and quotes in affinity diagrams. This helped with prioritizing features, as well deciding on user flows.

User Flows

Based on the synthesized qualitative data from interviews with users and stakeholder interviews, as well as user stories, I first designed user flows and user journeys.

Annotated Wireframes

I designed the wireframes with simple, yet thorough annotations to properly illustrate the correct functionality and state variations.

The entire application was comprised of several tools, and I created the corresponding wireframes.  Below is an example of a wireframe sequence for updating call the status on a delinquent customer's account.

Iteration

Based on feedback on prototypes from stakeholders and users, I evolved each tool in the enterprise application through iteration, until the final versions were approved for Development and QA.

Please view a prototype for the same call status squence on a delinquent account.
